Quality Hotel Vica in Alta, Norway: Delivers!
by Erwin Steneker

As part of me visiting my good friend Alf in Norway, we made a roundtrip through the north of Norway, visiting many illusturous places like Alta (home of the 'Mecca' of Salmon fishing, Alta river), Hammerfest (Northern most city in the world: 70°39'N), and NordKapp (North Cape, the northern most point of Europe: 71°10'21"N).
On our ventures, we stayed in the Quality Hotel Vica in Alta.
I was amazed at how well we were received.
On arrival, we were greeted with a warm hand and a big smile by the manager of Hotel Vica, Knut Rydningen, who knew us by name. The rest of the staff was equally friendly. It is not often that I come around such personal service!
Alf, who has been in this hotel more often, told me that if they know that regular customers are coming, they will call them beforehand, to ask what meal they would like on the day of arrival! Now, that's service!
But what really struck me was when the next day I was complimenting the Manager with his personal service operation, Mr. Rydningen immediately turned it around to his staff. "My Staff is my Gold!" he said. Amazing how he downplays his own role in this!
So, if you ever go to Norway, and looking for a place to stay... I can only give both thumbs up for Quality Hotel Vica in Alta.
You'll feel right at home!
