'On the Ear' Headsets

On the ear headset design is preferred by many call center representatives because it allows them to multitask. The headset’s speakers are placed outside the ear; a clip or an over the ear loop, supports the speaker and prevents it from falling. The clip is wrapped around the outer ear.

However, the placement of clip might annoy you if you wear glasses!

Many such headsets provide the facility to place the set on either ear. Currently all of these models are monaural and possess a single speaker. Hence they are not very good for multimedia purposes.

On the ear headsets can either be corded or cordless depending on your preference.

Plantronics DuoPro H151N is a high quality headset, but also much more expensive. This headset offers superior sound quality and a good noise canceling microphone. It is a good choice for noisy office environments.

Bluetrek G2 is a good cordless Bluetooth headset with an average price tag. This product contains all standard controls like make a call and adjusts volume etc. Its range is approximately 33 feet and is compatible for a variety of cell phones and other Bluetooth enabled devices.
