service vs. sales

I worked in Jacob Connexion for a few years, and I can assure you that if you had been in my store at the time you would never have had such an experience. I always prided myself on my customer service and it pains me to hear about such experiences. Even though retail is often a thankless job, customers still need to speak up, if you had a bad experience get the associates name and speak to the manager about her behaviour. If you look at the tags the associates wear the say "service associate" not "sales associate" because service is supposed to come before sales, at least that's what I was taught when I started training there. If all else fails find the head office number and complain to them!

This is true, of course. For all I know every other Jacob Connexion store are pillars of great service. In fact, I hope so!

Unfortunately it only takes one bad experience not taken proper care of. It's not fair, is it? This is why providing great service is challenging.
