Anyone may copy this service from Xerox

We have owned a XEROX 8550 color laser printer for under three years and recently the display panel died leaving the unit unusable. I shopped for service from an authorized dealer and learned that this was a $140 part and $100 service call. Before committing to this repair, I called XEROX Service directly and WOW... what AMAZING SERVICE!!!

A delightful lady on the service desk understood the problem immediately after hearing my description. She even quoted the error number that was printed by the printer... claimed that she has a great memory for numbers. The printer's warranty had long expired but she immediately volunteered to send a replacement part free of charge. FANTASTIC!! The call was made on Friday. On Monday the courier arrived with the part and instructions on how to install it. All is now well and we are printing once again.

I would recommend XEROX to anyone. Their products are great and their service is amazing. You get a real sense that XEROX employees really enjoy working there and that translates into great service.

Nothing works perfectly every time. When things go wrong it provides companies an opportunity to really show off their commitment to their customers and their products. XEROX took that opportunity and proved that it is a GREAT SERVICE organization. I feel great about XEROX because it confirms my decision that doing business with them was a wise choice.

Not Great Service, Just Fixing A Defect
by: Reginald

Defective panels are a known problem with the Xerox 8500/8550. It happens all the time, which is why the lady knew the error code and Xerox will replace it no charge. Your Authorized Dealer was going to take advantage of you. Your experience was much like finding out your car has a recall that the dealer will fix for free.
