Acer Computer like Money down the Toilet

After purchasing a laptop in January of 2007, I started having problems in November 2007. The laptop has been sent in for the same repair 3 times since late November.
The problem this time? The case cracked in shipping and now Acer will not repair it unless I pay $200. That being said, if it has been fixed properly the 1st time, it would have not had to go back 2 more times.
Now, I am having a laptop that is of no use to me shipped back. Acer will not even attempt to compensate me in any way. Like a good customer I purchased extra warranty and it is of no use to me now. Would I buy from them again?
